QUALIFICATIONS
I am a creative and resourceful individual.
I have pursued a lifelong interest in the arts, and I have an extensive knowledge of art history, including both fine and commercial art. I've worked in different media, from canvas to computers. I also have a strong sense of aesthetics, design, and color, and I've always had interest in all visual forms of communication, including films, posters, and classic illustration.
I've had a consistent pattern of high marks in school, and I've always been curious, as well as a fast learner. I've also retained the knowledge and experience that comes with years of creative endeavors. I've done photography, band flyers, portraits, painted signs, as well as many other graphics. I have commissioned works hanging in over fifty homes including painted and drawn portraits, as well as abstracts. I want a career that will challenge me and continue my artistic growth.
EDUCATION
1983-1987 Langley High School, Pittsburgh Scholars Program
I graduated thirteenth in my class, with honors, with a grade point average of 3.8. I took four years of art in what was normally a two year elective, due to the faculty's recognition of my talents. I received the Presidential Award for Academic Achievement, as well as several certificates of merit and scholarship. I also received the Pittsburgh Public Schools Certificate of Artistic Recognition for contribution to visual arts.
1989-1993 Community College of Allegheny County
I was consistently on the Dean's List for each semester, and in 1993 I received my Associate Degree in Science in Fine Arts. My grade point average was 3.67. I received high marks in Drawing, Painting, Color Theory, Visual Communications, Photography, Sculpture, and Two and Three Dimensional Design, as well as in my academic classes. I showed artwork in several student exhibits, garnering praise for my works. In 1999 I returned to Community College and completed courses in Digital Imaging and Computer Graphics. I have recently learned web-page design. This time around my cumulative grade point average is 4.0.
INTERESTS & ACTIVITIES
Drawing, painting, guitar playing, and surfing the Internet. I also collect fine art prints and old comic books and paperbacks, and I enjoy the music of the Beatles. I'm always reading about various artists, including Mucha, Picasso, Warhol, and other influential creators.
