CIT-636 - Using Geographic Information Systems/Exp (1 credits)
Prerequisite(s): None
This is an introduction to the use of Geographic Information Systems as an analytic and decision-making tool. The course is open to novice users from all disciplines and will provide guided case studies from several professions. The course does not focus on GIS technology per se, but we assume students will have a working knowledge of the Windows operating system. We will use a version of ESRI's ArcGIS software. The course is aimed at researchers and planners who want to expand their analytic toolbox. In this a brief introduction, users will exit understanding what skills are needed to develop a full GIS capability.This course is graded on a Pass/Fail basis. This is an experimental course.
