PTA-202 - Phys Therapy Prof Issues Seminar (2 credits)
Prerequisite(s): PREREQUISITES: PTA102, PTA103, PTA112 COREQUISITES: PTA201, PTA211
This course is designed to provide the student with information concerning professional issues and concerns relevant to the practice of physical therapy. Emphasis will be placed on the organization of health care institutions and community health care agencies. Major concerns of the profession are presented and include ethics, licensure, malpractice, and continuing education. It also provides the student with knowledge and skills essential in performing departmental tasks such as budgets, third party reimbursement, and quality assurance. Areas covered in personnel and professional skills include time management, job interviewing, resume writing, effective communication, and problem solving styles.
