Honors Program Eligibility & Application
PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
In order to be a member of the Honors Program, students must do the following:
- Submit an application to the Honors Campus Coordinator or the Honors Program Office.
- Be eligible for college-level courses English Composition I (ENG 101) and Algebra Fundamentals (MAT 090) or above. If college-level English and mathematics were completed at another college or university, an official transcript must be submitted with the application to the program.
- Be enrolled in an associate degree program, either full or part-time. Students in certificate programs are not eligible.
- Meet the entrance requirements for their particular status at the time of application (see below).
Current or returning CCAC students must meet the following criteria:
- have at least 9 credits of college-level courses
- eligibility for college-level english and mathematics (see second bullet above) as determined by CCAC placement tests
- a minimum institutional GPA of 3.5
Note: A candidate whose institutional GPA falls between a 3.25 and a 3.5 may make special application to the Honors Program with a recommendation from a CCAC faculty member and a personal interview with the Honors Campus Coordinator.

High school graduates or dual-enrollment seniors who complete the CCAC placement test confirming eligibility for college-level English and mathematics (see second bullet above) must meet two of the following four criteria:
- have a high school GPA of 3.5 or greater
- be in the top 10% of the high school
- graduating class have a minimum SAT score of 1180 or a minimum ACT score of 26
- be a member of the National Honor Society
Transfer students must meet the following criteria:
- have completed a minimum of 9 credits at their previous post-secondary institution(s)
- eligibility for college-level english and mathematics (see second bullet above) as determined by CCAC placement tests have a minimum GPA of 3.5 from the post-secondary institution(s)
- Note: A candidate whose GPA falls between a 3.25 and a 3.5 may make special application to the Honors Program with a recommendation from a CCAC faculty member and a personal interview with the Honors Campus Coordinator.
