A program that prepares the student for transfer to a four-year institution with a broad college background and skill and knowledge in chemistry.

Graduates may earn a bachelor's degree and prepare for graduate training in many scientific fields.

Upon successful completion of this program, graduates will:

  • employ appropriate vocabulary and references to demonstrate chemical literacy competence;
  • use calculators and computers to analyze relevant data;
  • investigate the relationship between nomenclature, structure, properties, and reactions of a substance in order to make predictions about other substances;
  • use calculations to answer questions about the behavior of matter; and
  • determine the behavior and properties of substances, based on experimentation.
