This program is designed to prepare you for a health career as a massage therapist. Participants will acquire skills in the different types and levels of massage. Additionally, students will learn how to begin and operate a massage therapy practice. Graduates will be prepared to work in wellness clinics, alternative medicine centers, chiropractor offices, nursing homes, and hospitals.
Students must make separate application to this program.
Applicants must be eligible for college-level courses as well as complete BIO151 General Biology or BIO110 Introduction to Biological Sciences.
The massage therapy degree program is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association Council of Schools. The Massage Therapist Certificate program is designed to provide entry level skills for students seeking formal preparation for a career as a massage therapist. Program is designed for a student without any previous health care background.
Students must meet pre-program requirements, which include the successful completion of BIO110 Introduction to Biological Science or BIO151 General Biology.

Certificate (403)
This program is designed to prepare individuals for a health career as a massage therapist. Graduates will complete a course of study that exceeds 700 clock hours of curriculum content including, but not limited to, anatomy, physiology, pathology/microbiology, massage techniques and protocols following the standards of practice for the massage discipline, practicum, ethics, communication skills and business practices. Successful completion of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid training is required.
Students must be eligible for Act 33/34 clearances and make a separate application to this program. Applicants must be of good moral character, not be addicted to habitual use of alcohol, narcotics, or other habit forming drugs and have not been convicted of a felony. Applicants must be eligible for college-level courses as well as completed BIO151 General Biology or BIO110 Introduction to Biological Sciences.
Upon completion of this program, graduates may seek employment as a massage therapist.
