Medical Transcription

The mission of the Medical Transcription Program is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and professional attitudes needed to function as competent entry-level transcriptionists in the health care delivery system. To accomplish this mission, the Medical Transcription Program seeks to:

  • Recognize education as a process of continued self-development, enhancing and preserving one's individual dignity and technical competencies
  • Support and assist students in obtaining and maintaining the knowledge and skills of their selected professions through an ongoing process of student assessment and program evaluation
  • Develop and update programs in order to stay responsive to the needs of the professional community
  • Recognize the responsibility of faculty members to serve as role models, continually updating their academic and clinical skills
