This program prepares students to develop entry-level nursing skills in the operating room. This certificate program is two semesters, the first concentrating on basic, introductory principles and procedures in the surgical setting and the second concentrating on surgical specialties. Each semester has an accompanying clinical experience in surgical suites in area hospitals.

Upon completion of this program, graduates may be employed as entry-level surgical nurses in hospitals and surgicenters. Enrollment is limited by availability of clinical sites and other factors. Students must make a separate application to the program.
