The CCAC Spam Filter filters messages coming from the Internet into CCAC’s network, providing protection from spam.
Spam is unsolicited email, usually of a commercial nature and often sent by scam artists.
How does the Spam Filter detect spam?
First, the Spam Filter blocks messages from known, disreputable sources. The filter then examines all other messages and does various filter checks for known spam characteristics. These filter checks include keywords, known spam sources, and attempts to obfuscate content.
What does the Spam Filter do with spam?
If the Spam Filter determines a message has a high probability of being spam it will quarantine that message. You will later receive a digest from PureMessage showing you which messages were held back and an opportunity to release or delete those messages from the quarantine.
What happens when I release a message from the quarantine?
If you identify a message as "not spam", the message will appear in your e-mail Inbox as usual.
