The Public Safety Institute (PSI) is a department within Community College of Allegheny County.

The Institute was established in the early 1980s, predominately offering Emergency Medical Services (EMS) programs. In the early 1990s CCAC expanded the mission of the Institute to include EMS, Fire, Hazardous Materials, Emergency Vehicle Operations and Emergency Management.

We train approximately 15,000 students per year in public safety programs in Allegheny, Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, Warren and Washington Counties.
