New Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations require that contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb painted surfaces in homes, child care facilities and schools built before 1978 to be certified as a lead safe contractor firm and follow specific work practices to minimize public exposure to lead hazards contained in lead paint. Individuals performing renovation and repair activities that disturb painted surfaces must be EPA lead certified renovators or have been trained and supervised by an EPA lead certified renovator.
An EPA lead certified renovator must also be assigned to each renovation project undertaken by a certified firm and perform all of the EPA mandated responsibilities and reporting required. The fine for violation of the EPA mandate is $37,500.00 per occurrence. Any company or firm who conducts such activity must also be certified as an EPA lead certified firm and employ certified renovators to oversee renovations.
CCAC is pleased to offer Lead Base Paint Certified Renovator Training at a significantly reduced price compared to other advertised entities offering this mandated training. The one-day 8-hour class will provide EPA mandated training for you and/or your employees to become EPA lead certified renovators and comply with this new federal law. This course is approved for purposes of certification under Section 402 of TSCA for Renovator training.
