Cosmetology Management

This program prepares licensed cosmetologists in developing their managerial skills for supervising, planning, motivating, organizing, and controlling resources within a salon environment. Graduates may find jobs as first-line supervisors/managers of hairdressers or other jobs in personnel or administrative areas of business.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will:

  • apply the science of cosmetology related to hair, skin, nail, and chemical texturing to clients;

  • employ terminology and apply concepts associated with managing a small business;

  • identify the roles of managers, organizational structure and culture, and demonstrate managerial skills appropriate for any level of management;

  • describe leadership fundamentals and effective team building strategies; and

  • explain the characteristics of a business plan.
