Cosmetology Management

The Cosmetology Management program is discontinued effective fall 2013.

This program prepares licensed cosmetologists in developing their managerial skills for supervising, planning, motivating, organizing, and controlling resources within a salon environment. Graduates may find jobs as first-line supervisors/managers of hairdressers or other jobs in personnel or administrative areas of business.

Upon successful completion of the program, the graduate will:

  1. Apply the science of cosmetology related to hair, skin, nail, and chemical texturing to clients
  2. Employ terminology and apply concepts associated with managing a small business.
  3. Identify the roles of managers, organizational structure and culture, and demonstrate managerial skills appropriate for any level of management.
  4. Describe leadership fundamentals and effective team building strategies.
  5. Explain the characteristics of a business plan.
