Institutional Advancement & Educational Foundation

The Office of Institutional Advancement & External Relations' primary goal is to engender public financial and other support from the region to enrich CCAC's educational and support services, while establishing the CCAC brand as one of value. Advancement efforts include the work of Contracts and Grants, Government Relations, Promotions and Marketing and Public Relations. The CCAC Educational Foundation is a separate 501(c)(3) dedicated to private fundraising efforts and expanding alumni relationships via Alumni Affairs efforts on behalf of the college. The foundation focuses efforts on four key areas including private fundraising, providing student scholarships, sponsoring new programs in test phases and supporting alumni programming.

The Advancement Report: An Update on Public & Private Funding, Communications & Community Outreach
The Advancement newsletter, The Advancement Report, is intended to inform key stakeholders of current fundraising efforts, provide talking points for internal and external college constituents regarding fundraising needs and efforts on behalf of the college, and complement the restricted funds report supplied to Board members. The CCAC Educational Foundation CCAC Connections Newsletter

The CCAC Educational Foundation CCAC Connections newsletter is built to update constituents on efforts in private fundraising and alumni affairs efforts to benefit the college and its students. It is supplied to board members and leaders of regional foundations. Read past editions for a historical overview of private fundraising efforts at CCAC.


Alumni Affairs:

  • Serves as the link between CCAC and its 90,000 alumni
  • Creates a sense of advocacy for the college in the community served by CCAC   
  • Plans and implements opportunities for alumni to engage the CCAC community
  • Leads implementation of the new CCAC Alumni Association
  • Hosts the CCAC AlumNet online community

CCAC Educational Foundation:

  • Leads efforts in philanthropic fundraising
  • Provides funds to ensure CCAC’s ability to offer varied programming that anticipates and fulfills the needs of the community
  • Manages student scholarship application and distribution

Contracts & Grants:

  • Identifies funding opportunities
  • Leads grant development to assist faculty, staff and administrators in the procurement of external funding via federal, state and local government grants

Government Relations:

  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with local, state and federal officials
  • Advocates for education-related issues and budget allocations
  • Positions the college with key workforce and opinion leaders

Promotions & Marketing:

  • Leads development and implementation of marketing plans, campaigns and special projects
  • Oversees development and implementation of the CCAC Graphic Standards Manual
  • Writes and/or edits print and electronic marketing media
  • Creates and manages advertising efforts for the college
  • Manages the design and production of college publications for internal and external audiences (brochures, reports, posters, advertisements, flyers, etc.)
  • Directs strategic and tactical development efforts for

Public Relations:

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with news sources and the public
  • Communicates college news to internal and external audiences
  • Coordinates college interactions with the media
