Advanced Manufacturing/Integrated Systems Technology (AM/IST) Full Certificate Program—Save $2,698! This 300-hour certificate program will cover topics important to maintenance and repair workers including electro mechanic technicians, process control programmers and hydraulic, pneumatic, fluid systems and mechanical systems workers. Pneumatic Systems This 20-hour certificate program will give the learners a foundation on pneumatics. Pneumatic prints and schematics will be introduced at the start of the training and schematics will be used to reinforce their understanding and facilitate troubleshooting. Proper inspection, repair and prevention will be developed for all components including pumps, filters, valves and actuators. Proper lubricant use will also be discussed. |

Mechanical Systems This 140-hour certificate program will cover hydraulics, pneumatics, fluid systems and mechanical systems. Hydraulic and pneumatic circuits will be studied and constructed. Troubleshooting techniques will be practiced. Mechanical power transfer systems will be constructed using gears, belt, and chain drives. Selection, control and installation methods will be covered. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) This 60-hour certificate program develops knowledge and skills in programmable logic controllers. Beginning with an introduction to the ladder logic programming at the basis of PLCs, the course goes through interfacing both digital and analog input and output techniques, event sequencing, motor control, and counter/ timer applications. The use of system indicators, diagnostics, and I/O module indicators for troubleshooting will be practiced by the student. Environmental Investigations, Human Health and Environmental Risk Assessment – From Past to Present For decades environmental investigations have evaluated the impact of manufacturing processes on the environment. In this course students will delve into environmental investigations, human health and ecological risk assessments, and environmental clean-ups that have plagued some companies for years on end. Examples of infamous hazardous waste sites and the costly remedies implemented to clean them up will be examined and discussed. Energy Losses & Conservation of Energy in Buildings (a Green course!) This 8-hour course (0.80 CEUs) will present the physical laws of heat transfer and how they apply to building heat loss. The effects of sun, wind, and shade and how energy consumption in buildings is effected are discussed. The insulating characteristics of various building materials for roofing, windows and flooring will be covered. Additional topics will include energy sources and the historical use of various fuels and renewable energy sources.
