Activated Sludge Part 1 (Six PA-DEP Contact Hours)
An overview of activated sludge process and control variables, aeration systems and new plant start-up procedures.

   

Activated Sludge Part 2 (Six PA-DEP Contact Hours)
Covers activated sludge process control strategies and operational problems encountered. Intro to microbiology of activated sludge process.

   

Activated Sludge Part 3 (Four PA-DEP Contact Hours)
Modification of the conventional activated sludge process, components of the modification. Key guidelines for operation of a sequencing batch reactor. Control guidelines for a pure oxygen activated sludge system

   

Activated Sludge Part 4 (Four PA-DEP Contact Hours)
Overview of nitrogen and phosphorus removal from wastewater and the mechanisms and processes used to accomplish removal.

   

Drinking Water Operator Continuing Education Courses

Ground Water Systems
This 4-hour course will acquaint certified operators and those seeking certification with the hydrologic cycle, groundwater aquifers, well development and use of groundwater as a potable water supply.

Water Quality
This 4-hour course provides an introduction to water quality classifications, water quality parameters for treatment and water quality sampling and analysis.

Distribution Systems
This 4-hour course will provide participants with a general understanding of the operations and maintenance of a distribution system necessary to provide safe and reliable water service to system customers.
