Renewable/Alternative Energy Technologies program

The Renewable/Alternative Energy Technologies program, founded in the Summer of 2012, provides a tuition-based technical education to prepare individuals with introductory training to enter into the renewable and alternative energy workforce.

The technology-driven curriculum, delivered in modules, will focus on the mechanics of green energy, rather than the philosophical study of the environment.

Register for classes now.

Courses offered include:

Module I-Introduction to Wind and Solar Photovoltaic Systems
The focus of this introductory course is to establish a core understanding of the concepts necessary to work with all PV and small wind systems. The class will discuss electrical components including AC power, DC power, electrical conversion, and grid-tie. Additional study will include mounting solutions, troubleshooting, cost analysis, safety, and commissioning. Upon completion of this course students may take the Entry Level PV NABCEP exam, The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) offers professional certification to accredited programs.

Module II-Introduction to Solar Thermal Systems
The focus of this introductory course is to establish a core understanding of the concepts necessary to work with all solar heating systems.   The course will familiarize students with industrial standards, piping and pump systems, safety practices, and national codes.
