About the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society
At the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society, the area’s oldest and largest animal welfare organization, it is believed that every pet deserves a loving home and the chance to be someone’s best friend. Since 1874, WPHS has been providing shelter and care for Pittsburgh’s unwanted animals—more than 129 years of matching wonderful pets with wonderful people. Offsite Adoption Days allow the public to meet adoptable pets, learn about volunteer opportunities, and to learn more about the range of services offered by WPHS.
