
PITTSBURGH—Kyle Sneddon of Farmington, Pa., has been hired as system-wide director of safety and security at the Community College of Allegheny County. He is currently with the Fairchance, Pa., Police Department, as well as serving as the code enforcement officer for North Union Township. Sneddon begins his duties Oct. 5.
In addition, Sneddon is the retired chief of police of the Uniontown, Pa., Police Department and has a broad background of experience as a firefighter, ambulance first responder, emergency management coordinator and drug task force commander.
He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State Police Academy and California University of Pennsylvania, with a degree in urban affairs. He has completed training courses across a wide range of topics, including cultural awareness, search and rescue, interview and interrogation, critical incident stress training, field sobriety testing, law enforcement liability, homicide investigation, school emergencies, lethal force certification, hazardous materials incidents, arson detection, radioactive materials transportation, terroristic threats, executive development, vehicle fires, structural fires and Taser certification.
Sneddon has served in the US Navy and Coast Guard reserves, and served as Uniontown’s director of emergency management.
Sneddon will assume CCAC’s safety and security responsibilities from Randy Gaab, who will become the college’s enterprise risk manager.
