
As executive assistant to the president, David Hoovler assists President Johnson with general college administration and serves as a liaison to both internal and external constituents. He supports and represents the president at meetings and facilitates communication to and from the President’s Office. In coordination with the Office of Public Relations, Hoovler helps to form the college’s public relations strategy and serves as CCAC’s spokesperson to the news media on matters of collegewide significance.
Hoovler joined CCAC in 2008 as director of Public Relations and was named to his current position in July 2010. Prior to serving at CCAC, he was an instructor of English language and literature with English Language Institute/China at Weinan Teachers’ College, Shaanxi Province, China. He also served in the communications office at Asbury College (now Asbury University), Wilmore, KY.
Hoovler holds a master’s degree in intercultural studies and teaching English to speakers of other languages from Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL and a bachelor’s degree in English and journalism from Asbury College.
