PITTSBURGH—In its first season of play, the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) South campus women’s softball team defeated Westmoreland County Community College last weekend to capture the regional playoffs. The women, under the leadership of Coach George Adams, will be one of eight teams traveling to Rochester, Minn., May 20 to compete at the NJCAA 2010 Division III National Championship.
The Community College of Allegheny County is the largest institution of postsecondary higher education in Pennsylvania. The college serves 30,000 credit students through 170 degree and certificate programs and offers thousands of lifelong learning non-credit and workforce development courses to 35,000 students annually.
