Mona N. Generett, PhD

Mona N. Generett, PhD, is the secretary for CCAC’s Board of Trustees and chair of the board’s Human Resources and Diversity and Inclusion Committee. In addition to her work on behalf of the college, she is vice president for community development at Dollar Bank, where she is responsible for community reinvestment and economic development, especially in developing and managing the bank’s outreach, lending and grant-making strategies for low and moderate income communities. As a result of her efforts, Dollar Bank has been ranked as outstanding for 15 consecutive years in the area of community reinvestment. Dr. Generett has also held administrative positions of significant responsibility at the State University of New York at Albany, Point Park and Chatham Universities.

Currently a member of the boards of the UPMC Shadyside Foundation, the Pittsburgh Partnership for Neighborhood Development, AAA East Central Motor Club and the August Wilson Center for African American Culture, Dr. Generett is a former vice president of the boards of the United Way of Allegheny County and the YWCA of Greater Pittsburgh. She is the recipient of numerous awards including the YWCA Tribute to Women Leadership Award in 1997 and the 2010 Women in Business Award from the Pittsburgh Business Times. She holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Higher Education Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, a Master of Education in Student Personnel Administration from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Spelman College.
