Kathryn J. Hopkins

After ten years of working in the restaurant business, Kathryn J. Hopkins saw a brighter future at CCAC. With a 3.92 GPA, the Mt. Washington resident graduated this spring with an Associate of Science degree in General Studies and will transfer to the University of Pittsburgh, where she plans to study Microbiology.

Hopkins was a vital member of CCAC student life despite being both a full-time student and a server at two restaurants. She held active membership in the Alpha Mu Theta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and recently presented at that national honor society’s 2010 Regional Conference on the Evolution of Cardiothoracic Surgery.

In the future, Hopkins plans to earn a master’s degree in pathogens and infectious diseases and hopes to work for the Center for Disease Control.

CCAC is proud to call Kathryn J. Hopkins a distinguished alumna.
