10/31/2011 -- CCAC runner wins regional 5k, travels to nationals

PITTSBURGH—Janelle Baldwin of Carnegie, a runner with the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) North Campus Cross Country Team, finished in first place at the Women’s 5k at the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 20 Championship on October 29 in Hagerstown, Md. Her winning time was 22:07, recorded in the midst of more than 3 inches of snow and driving wind.

Baldwin will travel to the NJCAA Cross Country National Championship on November 5 in Massachusetts.

Earlier, she took first place in the Women’s 5k at the Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association State Championship on October 22 and at the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Championship held at Westmoreland County Community College October 15.

Baldwin is a first-year team member and a Liberal Arts major at CCAC–West Hills Center in Oakdale.
