A member of CCAC’s Board of Trustees and its Workforce Development Committee, William T. Cagney is the business manager and financial secretary of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 95. Under his stewardship, the union has more than doubled its membership and increased its income by nearly 24 times. He founded the union’s training and building funds and 401(k) plan. In addition, he is trustee to the Pittsburgh Building Owner’s Health and Welfare Fund and has served as its chair for nearly two decades. He is also the longest-serving president of the Pennsylvania State Council of Operating Engineers.
Cagney serves on the board of advisors of UPMC Health Plan and Three Rivers Labor Management Council; on the boards of Visit Pittsburgh and Green Building Innovations; and on the steering committee of Sustainable Pittsburgh. He was appointed to the Allegheny County Green Action Team in 2008. An alumnus of the Community College of Allegheny County, he has received awards for leadership in green initiatives from multiple organizations and is a frequent lecturer.
