The Nu Delta Alpha (NDA) Division of the CCAC Dance Club-Allegheny sponsors the Annual Gospel Liturgical Dance Festival every spring term. The NDA is a National Honor Society for dancers. The CCAC Chapter of the NDA has a liturgical dance ensemble which carries-out a ministry of dance and community service throughout the year.
The Liturgical Dance Festival is one of several events offered by the CCAC Liturgical Dance Ensemble and the CCAC Chapter of the NDA in an effort to carry-out several primary objectives which promote “Dance with a Higher Purpose” and further diversity and goodwill within in the local and global community.
CCAC has a tradition of offering numerous opportunities which foster the growth and wellness of the complete person academically, socially, physically, economically and psychologically. Liturgical dance helps to develop the individual culturally, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually through community service, leadership, mentoring, scholarship and fellowship through dance ministry. Dance ministry is more than dance performance and entertainment but instead, it’s the act of being of service to others.
The festival, which is an Ecumenical Celebration of Praise and Worship of the Lord, invites the participation of local, national and internationally renowned liturgical dance ministry groups, dance soloists, vocalists, choirs, musicians and other creative artists, and ministers to attend and participate in the conference.
Presentations of praise/worship dance ministries, worshipful dance workshops, education and praise music are just some of the activities offered during the conference. This year the Conference will take place:
Saturday, April 12, 2014 from 10a.m. - 5p.m.
at the Community College of Allegheny County – North Shore (Near the sports stadiums)
