10/24/2012 -- CCAC Golf Team wins Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association State Championship

PITTSBURGH—The Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC)–North Campus Golf Team won its eighth Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association (PCAA) State Championship October 8 and 9 at the Penn National Golf Club in Fayetteville, Pa. Team member Eric Poplowski of Ambridge was the individual medalist in the two-day event, shooting rounds of 72 and 73. Teammates Paul Ajak III of O’Hara Township and Ben Kennedy of Sewickley finished in the top five, with Ajak and Kennedy finishing third and fourth, respectively. Teammate Dan Blahnik of McCandless also represented CCAC–North Campus at the event. 

At the tournament, CCAC Coach Chuck Bell was named Coach of the Year. He has coached all eight of CCAC’s championship teams, and has the distinction of coaching the college with the greatest number of wins in the tournament’s history.
