PITTSBURGH—The Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) North Campus Golf Team placed second at the 2013 NJCAA Region XX Golf Championship, which they hosted May 3-5 at Pittsburgh National Golf Club.
CCAC golfer Eric Poplowski of Ambridge was the tournament medalist, scoring a two-day total of 154 (78-76). Poplowski will join teammates Ben Kennedy, of Sewickley, and Paul Ajak III, of Aspinwall, who also qualified to compete at the National Championship May 19-24 at Goose Pond Colony in Scottsboro, AL.
Previous junior college golfers who played at nationals include: Baba Watson, Lee Janzen, Rocco Mediate and Fuzzy Zoeller.
