Overview
Interlibrary Loan can be used to obtain materials that are NOT available at the individual campus libraries. This includes items such as books and articles from magazines and journals. Materials can be borrowed from any CCAC library or from thousands of libraries across the country.
Books & Audiovisual Materials at Another CCAC Campus Library
Library users with a valid ID card can use Alleycat to place holds on circulating materials owned by other campus libraries. When viewing the record of the item in Alleycat, click the "Place Hold" button, enter your barcode number and personal information. The item will then be sent from the other campus and you will be notified when it is available at your campus. Please allow a minimum of 3 to 4 business days for this service. There is a maximum of 3 active holds for each library user. Note for Faculty: If you exceed 3 active holds, see the Circulation Desk for assistance in placing additional items on hold.
Magazine and Journal Articles at Another CCAC Campus Library
Articles at another CCAC campus can be requested using the appropriate forms available at the Library. In most cases the articles are faxed within 24 hours. To avoid delays, complete the form in its entirety. For students and community patrons there is a 10 cent charge per page for this service.
Materials NOT Available at any CCAC Library
If none of the CCAC campus libraries owns the item you need, you may request it from other libraries using a Lyrasis or an Interlibrary Loan form. Please allow a minimum of 10 to 14 days for this service. Non-CCAC libraries may charge to lend or copy their materials. You are responsible for all charges; please indicate the maximum that you are willing to pay for the item.
Local Academic Libraries: Lyrasis Libraries
A Lyrasis agreement with these libraries for reciprocal borrowing allows you to borrow books from their collections with a permission slip from the CCAC library and your current validated CCAC ID card. Ask at the Reference Desk for assistance.
