- BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) World news service online provides excellent coverage of international current events. Stories are organized by region and are available in numerous languages. Includes audio and video feeds. Stories are archived for more than a year.
- CBC News Online
- Website of Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Canada's national public broadcaster. Includes full-text, in-depth and analytical news on current events, business, sports, arts and entertainment, health and science. Includes selected sound and video footage.
- CBSNEWS.com
- Website of CBS news network, it arranges news by subject and programs. Free CBS News video available.
- CNN
- Current, breaking news, sports and financial information. Stories can be viewed by topics such as world, business, sports, politics, technology, and others. Foreign language coverage is provided under "International Edition" at the bottom of the page.

- Voice of America News
- Website of The Voice of America (VOA), an international multimedia broadcasting service funded by the U.S. government. VOA programs are produced and broadcast in 44 languages through radio, satellite television, and the Internet. This website provides news in text and audio format in a variety of languages.
Topical Search Engines
- blinks video search
- blinkx.tv allows you to search the web for video and audio clips. blinkx.tv uses conceptual search, which allows users to enter normal text for which blinkx.tv will return results whose content is conceptually similar to your search text. blinks.tv's Smart Folders function enables users to create a folder with their favorite searches. This folder will be updated automatically and accessible without internet connection.
- Google Video Search
- Google Video enables you to search the closed captioning text of all the programs in their archive for relevant results. Click on a program title on the results page and you can look through short snippets of the text along with still images from the show. The "About this show" side panel provides information on when the program will air next. Currently Google video archive only includes programs from a limited number of channels.

Local American newspaper, radio and TV sites can be located by state or searched by name or call letters. International newspapers can be located by country. - NPR Archive
- Searchable National Public Radio programs. You can search by the date you heard it on radio and/or the program you heard it from. Detailed search help available. Some stories in archive don't have audio feed.
- Television News Archive
- This collection indexes more than 30,000 individual network evening news broadcasts from the major U.S. national broadcast networks: ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN, and more than 9,000 hours of special news-related programming including ABC's Nightline since 1989. The site provides only summaries of the programs, not full transcripts. Free registration is required to search the site, and fees are charged for tapes of the broadcasts.
- Yahoo! Video Search
- Yahoo! Video Search allows you to search millions of videos from across the Web. It searches closed-captioned content from Bloomberg, BBC and BSkyB, including movie trailers, music videos and news content.
