- Anthrax Vaccine Immunization Program - The Official DoD Anthrax Information Web Site
- Maintained by the U.S. Department of Defense, the site has information on the use of the anthrax vaccination as well as safety issues. Also discusses the threat of anthrax as a biological weapon.
- Bioterrorism (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)
- This CDC site contains overviews, fact sheets, and other information on approximately 30 bioterrorism agents (anthrax, smallpox, ricin, etc.). The site has information that is designed for the general public and specialized resources for the scientific/health care communities.
- CDC Emergency Preparedness and Response
- The Center for Disease Control, a U.S. Government agency, provides extensive information on biological, chemical, and nuclear agents that could be used as weapons of terrorism. The site also covers non-terrorists emergencies where disease or injury might be a factor. Use the table of contents to find articles on specific agents. For each agent there is medical information, information on detecting outbreaks, terrorism readiness plans (where applicable), and additional research information.
- Country Reports on Terrorism
- Formerly known as the Patterns of Global Terrorism, this annual report published by the U.S. Secretary of State covers "countries in which acts of terrorism occurred, countries that are state sponsors of terrorism, and countries determined by the Secretary to be of particular interest in the global war on terror."
- National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism
- "MIPT conducts research into the social/political causes and effects of terrorism and special topics like terrorism involving chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear weapons of mass destruction (WMD)." Their online library includes 84 related categories like Al Qaeda, Homeland Security, Patterns of Global Terrorism, September 11, and Terrorism Fact Sheets. - National Strategy for Combating Terrorism
- Released on February 14, 2003, this is the official U.S. strategy on combating terrorism. The document provides background information on terrorism, the structure of terrorist networks, availability of weapons of mass destruction, etc. The strategy section is structured around a set of goals and objectives. - Worldwide Incident Tracking System (WITS)
- The U.S. National Counterterrorism Center maintains this searchable database that provides details of terrorist incidents throughout the world. Users can search by keyword or region of the world, view reports, and export data to a spreadsheet. [PDF]
- U.S. Department of Homeland Security
- The main page provides stories on current legislation and events related to homeland security. Additional articles and current information can be found under “Emergencies & Disasters,” “Travel & Transportation” which includes airport security, “Immigration and Borders,” and others.
- United Nations Treaty Collection - Conventions on Terrorism
- Full texts of treaties on terrorism posted by the United Nations. These documents provide the legal framework for combating global terrorism. Includes treaties on the taking of hostages, terrorist bombings, the financing of terrorism, unlawful seizure of aircraft, and protection of nuclear materials as well as selected regional treaties.

- 9/11 Commission Report
- The final report of the 9/11 Commission, an independent, bipartisan committee, which investigated the circumstances surrounding the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Included are analyses of the preparedness for and the immediate response to the attacks, as well as recommendations to guard against future attacks. PDF format.
- al-Qa'ida (The Base)
- Background report on the al Qa'ida terrorist network provided by the Federation of American Scientists, an organization of scientists founded in 1945 by members of the Manhattan Project to promote awareness of disarmament and weapons issues. Includes links to additional background information on Usama bin Laden and related terrorist organizations.
- Complete Coverage: The 9/11 Records
- From the New York Times, this digital archive contains over 200 accounts of emergency medical technicians, paramedics, and their supervisors. The unedited audio dispatches are also supplemented with text transcripts of the interviews. The dispatch tapes are available in MP3 or RealPlayer formats.
- DefendAMERICA

- This site is the companion to the National Geographic programs and provides a detailed look at the 9/11 attacks. Biographies, photos, and over 50 videos are highlights of this powerful memorial. Requires Flash.
- The Memory Hole: 9/11 Transcripts and Police Reports
- "The Memory Hole has obtained 9/11 documents previously withheld by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. These transcripts of phone calls and radio transmissions, and copies of police reports, were finally released under a federal order resulting from a lawsuit brought by the New York Times."

- The Impact of the USA Patriot Act on Free Expression
