The Community College of Allegheny County operates on a semester basis. This includes
a fall and a spring term or two major terms of 15 weeks of instruction with a final
examination period. This also includes two summer sessions. This schedule follows
the traditional financial aid calendar typically parallel to the Federal Student Aid
Application. The fall term begins in late August or early September and the spring
term begins in January of the following year. Students taking 12 credits (semester
hours) or more are considered full time for enrollment purposes.
View the Financial Aid for Current Students: Ask Before You Act information to learn more about how schedule changes can affect financial aid.
If you are expecting to receive financial aid, you can review your pending financial aid at MyCCAC. Navigate to CCAC Central e-Services and select "Students". Then click on Financial Aid Self Service.
It is your responsibility to compare your financial aid award with your tuition and fee costs and if the financial aid is less than the total cost of tuition and fees the balance is due by the tuition due date.
If you are applying for a student loan you must complete a Direct Loan Master Promissory Note and Student Loan Entrance Counseling in order for your loan to be processed.

CCAC offers the Federal Direct Student Loan program. This program provides low-interest
loans for students and parents directly from the Department of Education instead of
private banks or other financial institutions. If you want to supplement your financial
aid award with loans you can find out more about this direct lending program, or contact
the appropriate campus financial aid office.
If you are interested in applying for a Direct Loan, you must request the loan through
Financial Aid Self Service in My CCAC. All students applying for a Direct Loan must
complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Student Loan Entrance Counseling for the
loan to be processed. MPNs and Entrance Counseling can be completed at StudentLoans.gov.
In accordance with the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (HEOA), beginning on October 29, 2011, each postsecondary institution in the United States that participates in Title IV federal student aid programs and enrolls full-time, first-time degree- or certificate-seeking undergraduate students will be required to post a net price calculator on its website that uses institutional data to provide estimated net price information to current and prospective students and their families based on a student's individual circumstances.
Using both institution-provided and student-entered data, this calculator will allow prospective students to calculate an estimated net price at an institution, defined as cost (price) of attendance minus grant and scholarship aid, based on what similar students paid in a previous year.
