Software Requests for Open Computer Labs at CCAC

CCAC has set a minimum standard configuration for all computers and peripheral devices. To request additional software installation, please review and follow the appropriate procedures. Please note that the open lab computers all utilize deep freeze, which restores the computers to their original state following a reboot.  Any software installation requests for these computers must be reviewed by the Software License Team, and approved by the ITS Field Operations Director. These requests require at least a 24 hour window.

  • Computer Lab Guidelines

The guidelines listed below have been adopted by all computer labs in the CCAC system. They are intended to make the experience in the lab a positive and enriching one. With consideration for your fellow students, we will all benefit. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

    • Use the computer resources primarily for academic purposes. CCAC resources are not to be used for personal financial gain and/or commercial purposes.
    • Respect the needs of other users to access limited computer resources. College computer resources are not to be used to transmit or display obscene, illegal, violent, discriminatory material.
    • Abide by college printing standards. Printing of offensive materials is prohibited.
    • Printing of large quantities of flyers, banners or other printed materials not academically related is discouraged. For print jobs of this nature, only one copy may be printed in the labs.
    • Abide by all signs posted in the computer labs.
    • Do not unplug any cables, (power or network) from outlets in the computer labs. Your personal laptop/notebook computers may only access the CCAC wireless systems.
    • Do not share your username or password. Anything done under your account is your responsibility.
    • CCAC is a smoke-free facility. Do not smoke, (this includes smokeless or vapor cigarettes), drink or eat in any computing facility.
    • Place your cell phone on vibrate and take all calls outside of the lab area.
    • All users need a valid network username and password to use CCAC computer resources.
    • Individuals under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult to use the computer lab.
    • Disruptive physical behavior and/or verbal interference will result in student being escorted to the Dean of Students office for disciplinary action

  • Student Printing Limits

In order to encourage conservation of paper and printing resources, printing from student network accounts will be limited to 20 pages per print job. If you need to print larger jobs they may still be printed by dividing the print run into smaller groups, 20 pages or less.

Open Computer Lab printers are set to duplex printing, (printing on both sides of the paper).

Always check print preview before you print; and print only what you need. For more information, ideas and background, please view our tech-torial video: Smarter Printing
