Trophy to be awarded at Wellness Fair on Thursday.

PITTSBURGH-Employees of the Community College of Allegheny County have walked the distance to promote good health by participating in the SparkPittsburgh Company Step Challenge. The college finished in third place among large companies in the Pittsburgh region-up from seventh place last year-with 43,798,006 steps in all.

A total of 158 employees-nearly 100 more employees than last year-logged their steps for the past six weeks. The top finishing CCAC employee logged a total of 1,164,407 steps. A Step Challenge trophy and prizes for top walkers will be awarded at the CCAC Wellness Fair, which will be held at CCAC Boyce Campus on Thursday, October 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. CCAC President Quintin Bullock will present a trophy to the campus that logged the most steps. The competition has been close among the four campuses and the Office of College Services throughout the contest.

The Wellness Fair will also offer a mini-clinic with onsite flu shots, blood pressure screenings and massage therapy sessions, as well as information on financial services, weight-loss and nutrition programs, stress management, caregiver support and AAA services. In addition, more than 20 vendors will be present, and door prizes will be raffled off every hour. The fair is open to all CCAC employees and students.

CCAC Boyce Campus is located at 595 Beatty Road, Monroeville, PA 15146.
