CCAC South Campus will host a Social Workers in Aging Practice meeting on Tuesday, March 21

PITTSBURGH—The Community College of Allegheny County’s South Campus will host a Social Workers in Aging Practice (SWAP) dinner and meeting on Tuesday, March 21, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The dinner will begin at 5:15 p.m. followed by the business meeting at 6:00 p.m. It is the first time the college has hosted such an event related to social work practice with older adults in Pennsylvania.

SWAP is a Practice Council of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, Southwestern PA Division. Members are professionals who practice social work with older adults and their families in a wide range of settings delivering a variety of services. Attendees will receive two Continuing Education Units.

The event will feature tours of the campus followed by a dinner and business meeting that will include a welcome and presentation by CCAC Assistant Professor, Social Work, Social Sciences, Christopher Robinson, DEd, MSW. The dinner will be followed by a clinical presentation, “A New Way to Look at Ethics,” given by Don Steighner, MA, JD.
