  • Employee Tuition Benefits

    Employees Covered Under AFT or SEIU Contract

    To qualify for tuition reimbursement or waiver, your employment status must be regular full-time or regular part-time and be covered by the AFT Collective Bargaining Agreement or SEIU Collective Bargaining Agreement. For more information, please refer to your most current contract located on the Human Resources webpage.

    Administrative/Excluded Employees

    To qualify for tuition reimbursement or waiver, your employment status must be regular full-time or regular part-time and as defined in the Employee Manual 5.10.32 and 5.10.33. The Employee Manual is located on the Human Resources webpage.

    Tuition Reimbursement (External)

    Effective 1/1/18, the form for tuition reimbursement has been combined into one document to be used by Administrators, Excluded, SEIU and AFT employees.

    Adjunct Credit Teaching Faculty

    Credit adjunct faculty members are now able to enroll in up to two regularly scheduled credit courses at CCAC without payment of tuition.

    With this new policy, credit courses may be taken for credit (graded) or audit (non-graded) when space is available. Adjunct faculty will be responsible for all course-related fees (including college fees), as well as textbooks, supplies, and course materials. The waiver of tuition does not apply to repeated courses.

    To qualify for free tuition, each credit adjunct faculty must:

    1. Complete all course pre-requisites as identified in the CCAC catalog.
    2. Must have a current teaching assignment in the same semester in which they register for a course.
    3. Must have taught a credit course at CCAC for a minimum of two academic semesters (does not have to be in succession).
    4. Obtain Campus Academic Dean's approval.

    To qualify for free tuition, each temporary part-time staff member must:

    1. Complete all course pre-requisites as identified in the CCAC catalog.
    2. Must have worked 500 hours in the immediately-preceding 12-month period.
    3. Obtain Supervising Administrator's approval.

    Flexible Spending Accounts

    WageWorks has acquired the flex spending account book of business from ADP and CCAC is being transitioned to WageWorks. For the time being, the customer service phone number and web portal to access to individual accounts are remaining the same.

    WageWorks (NYSE: WAGE) is a leader in administering Consumer-Directed Benefits (CDBs). WageWorks is solely dedicated to administering CDBs, including pre-tax spending accounts, such as Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), health and dependent care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs), as well as Commuter Benefit Services, including transit and parking programs, wellness programs, COBRA, and other employee benefits. WageWorks makes it easier to understand and take advantage of Consumer-Directed Benefits for approximately 100,000 employers and approximately 6.5 million people.

    WageWorks (800.654.6695) offers flex spending through CCAC. A flexible spending account can lead to an increase in spendable income. Pay for select medical and child care expenses on a pre-tax basis. Account Balances not used are forfeited.

    Medical Reimbursement Account

    • Maximum annual contribution is $2,650 for 2018.
    • The IRS requires substantiation for some debit card purchases; keep your receipts, even if you use the debit card option!
    • Eligible expenses for reimbursement include; deductibles, amounts in excess of plan allowances or maximums, prescription drug co-payments, PPO and EPO doctor office visit charges, Lasik eye surgery, and contact lens supplies, etc.
    • Convenient access to account information via online account

    Dependent Care Reimbursement Account

    • Maximum annual contribution is $5,000
    • Dependent care must be necessary so that you, and if you are married, your spouse can work or look for work.
    • Eligible expenses for reimbursement include child care centers that care for six or more children and that meet the IRS definition of a qualified day care center, caregivers for a disabled spouse or dependent who lives with you.

  • Employee and Family Assistance

    Effective July 1, 2016, ACSHIC has switched Employee Assistant Program (EAP) vendors from Life Solutions to Lytle EAP Partners.

    The EAP provides employees and family members with free and confidential help in dealing with personal problems. This benefit provides short-term counseling for you and your family members. The EAP can help with most any kind of problem that affects your personal well-being and your ability to perform your job.
