• CCAC Public Safety Institute

    The Institute was established in the early 1980s, predominately offering Emergency Medical Services (EMS) programs. In the early 1990s CCAC expanded the mission of the Institute to include EMS, Fire, Hazardous Materials, Emergency Vehicle Operations and Emergency Management. PSI trains approximately 15,000 students per year in public safety programs in Allegheny, Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Indiana, Lawrence, Mercer, Venango, Warren and Washington Counties. Emergency Medical Services includes popular training in:

    Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
    Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
    Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
    Fire, rescue and HAZMAT
    PSI Training & Education Partnership (TEP)

    CCAC PSI offers a Training & Education Partnership (TEP) pay-as-you-go program for emergency services agencies in western Pennsylvania with an annual maximum cost of training for qualifying members.     OSHA Training -- Registering for 2018
    The Public Safety Institute now offers training in Occupational Safety & Health Standards (OSHA) both for General Industry and for the Construction Industry. Read more.

    EMT, BLS Provider & AEMT Training Registering for 2018
    Classes are available and registering now for summer and fall for those seeking EMT and BLS Provider training in Southwestern PA. See the EMT Course Packet and Schedule, AEMT Course Packet and Schedule and BLS Provider Course Packet and Schedule for information, dates and locations.

    American Heart Association (AHA) Programs
    CCAC is a certified CTC (Community Training Center) where instructors can align and where AHA training is offered in Heartsaver CPR/AED, Heartsaver First Aid, BLS Provider (also known as Professional Rescue CPR), BLS Instructor, and both HeartCode® ACLS and HeartCode® PALS. Read more.

    Recertification is also available for anyone involved in public safety as well as for members of the general public who are interested in learning more and includes Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Life Support training for both Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) providers.
