  • Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS)

    Current Plan

    • Members on or after 7/1/11, please visit the PSERS webpage for contribution rates.
    • Members prior to 7/22/83 contribute 6.5 percent of gross salary.
    • Members on or after 7/22/83 contribute 7.5 percent of gross salary.
    • College contribution is determined each July 1 by state.
    • Employee's contribution is tax deferred.
    •  PSERS has a 10-year vesting period.

  • State Employees Retirement System (SERS)

    Current Plan

    • Members contribute 6.25 percent of gross salary. New participants contribute 6.25% (A3 class) or may elect to contribute 9.3% (A4 class) of gross salary to receive a higher multiplier used in the pension formula.
    • College contribution is determined each July 1 by state.
    • For the 2002-2003 year the state requires no employer contribution.
    • Employee's contribution is tax deferred.  
    • SERS has a 10-year vesting period.
