CCAC to host Virtual Skilled Trades & Services Fair on March 30

Students in skilled trades activitiesPITTSBURGH—Students and community members are invited to find out how they can receive training at the Community College of Allegheny County toward high-paying and highly rewarding careers. The college will host a Virtual Skilled Trades & Services Fair on Tuesday, March 30, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The event will kick off with opening remarks by CCAC Northwest Region President Evon Walters and an overview of West Hills Center’s Skilled Trades programs by Director of Enrollment Rhena McCaskill.

The fair will include informative presentations on CCAC’s Automotive program, including the college’s partnerships with Chrysler, Ford and GM; the HVAC/Facilities Maintenance program; the Mechatronics program, which focuses on the engineering of electronic, electrical and mechanical systems; and the Welding program, which can be completed in just 16 weeks. Attendees will also see presentations by CCAC’s several union and apprenticeship partners. The event will wrap up with a Q&A session.

CCAC offers more than 25 degree and certificate programs in the skilled trades, all of which can be completed in two years or less at CCAC’s state-of-the-art facilities. These programs offer students the opportunity to earn certificates in a short period of time so that they are able to begin working in the field while they continue at CCAC to fulfill the requirements for the degree programs.

Upon registration, attendees will receive the agenda and a link to the Zoom session. Register at this link, or go to ccac.edu/events/trades-and-services-fair.php
