CCAC offers virtual courses for certified radiologic technologists

CT scanner and technologistPITTSBURGH—The Community College of Allegheny County is pleased to announce a new and convenient opportunity for certified radiologic technologists to earn continuing education (CE) units. As the health care industry changes, CE courses are essential to staying licensed as well as up-to-date and informed. Continuing education enables health care professionals to grow their expertise in specific areas, opening doors to career advancement.

For the spring 2022 semester, CCAC will be offering five virtual courses that can be completed at any time of day or night, seven days a week, during specified time periods. These courses will meet the structural education requirements necessary to qualify to apply for the national certification examination. CCAC will also be conducting a mammography clinical course to provide students with the chance to experience hands-on training within a mammography suite. The classes are open to any certified technologist recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or any certified radiographer or current certified mammographer.

All of the courses may be eligible for tuition reimbursement or third-party sponsorship—interested individuals should check with their employer. The one-credit virtual courses are 16 hours and cost $118. The four-credit clinical course is 240 hours and costs $472. Costs are the same for students who reside in county, out of county and out of state. Classes must be completed within the time frames listed below.
