STEM Science Math and Technologies at CCAC

Often referred to as the jobs of the future, STEM careers are in strong demand as the need for
workers in high-paying STEM fields continues to grow, resulting in greater economic opportunity
for years to come. In fact, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Career Outlook, overall
STEM employment is expected to grow about 13 percent between 2012 and 2022—faster than
the 11 percent rate of growth projected for all occupations over the decade.
Multimedia and Gaming
The Multimedia Programming, Simulation and gaming associate degree program provides
students with technical training in game development, animation software tools, digital
imaging and programming. Students will develop a portfolio to show prospective employers
and transfer counselors at four-year institutions. Graduates who pursue a bachelor’s
degree can then explore more competitive employment opportunities.
The Multimedia Game Simulation certificate program enables students to learn about game design and simulation practices. Designed for those seeking skills to create high-end websites with strong design and functional capabilities, the Multimedia Web Programming certificate provides students with instruction in how to design, create and administer interactive and professional websites that utilize server-side programming technologies. Topics covered include web page navigation, web publishing, web images preparation, database design and development, and e-commerce solutions. The program is ideal for graphic designers who need technical programming skills to implement their website designs.
