One of the nation’s fastest growing occupations, medical assistants work alongside doctors in physicians’ offices and other health care facilities where they perform essential clinical and administrative duties. These include taking medical histories, recording the vital signs of patients and maintaining medical records.
Students enrolled in the certificate program are prepared for entry-level positions as medical assistants in a doctor’s office, clinic or other health care setting. Students in the degree program have the opportunity to continue their education and complete the coursework needed for an associate degree. Both programs include a nonpaid clinical externship.
