STEM Science Math and Technologies at CCAC

Often referred to as the jobs of the future, STEM careers are in strong demand as the need for
workers in high-paying STEM fields continues to grow, resulting in greater economic opportunity
for years to come. In fact, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Career Outlook, overall
STEM employment is expected to grow about 13 percent between 2012 and 2022—faster than
the 11 percent rate of growth projected for all occupations over the decade.
Computer-Aided Design
This program prepares students for a career in the architectural field. Through drafting projects, students learn to prepare various architectural drawings of structures and equipment systems derived from layouts and sketches. Students will transform initial designs using computer-aided drafting (CAD) into working architectural drawings adhering to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and American Institute of Architects (AIA) drafting standards.
The Computer-Aided Drafting & Design (CADD) Technology degree program prepares students to
create complete, concise and accurate computer-based engineering communications. Through
multiple projects, students become skilled in solving both two-dimensional and three-dimensional
technical problems involving parametric and solid modeling using modern
CADD programs.
