WEDnetPA Training Program
The Community College of Allegheny County is a partner with the Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA) www.wednetpa.com. There have been exciting changes to the program with the allocation per eligible employee being increased from $450 to $600 for Essential Skills Training and $850 to $1200. In addition, eligibility for some industries has been revisited and more training events have been added to the eligibility list for both the Essential and Technical awards. Essential Skills Training Qualifications
Employers must be manufacturing or technology businesses including Biotech and Environmental-Tech companies.
A technology company is defined as one that produces or provides a technology product or service.
Executives with decision-making responsibilities (budgeting, policy, etc.) are not eligible. Small companies are exempt.
Employers may apply for funding for any number of eligible employees up to $600 per employee and up to $75,000 total per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30).
Technical Skills Training Qualifications
Most companies are eligible for technical skills training.
All employees are eligible for Technical Skills training, however, the training must be directly related to the employee s scope of work.
Employers may apply for funding for any number of eligible employees up to $1200 per employee and $50,000 per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30).
