Gov. Shapiro visits CCAC, tours the Center for Education, Innovation & Training

Gov. Josh Shapiro toured CCAC’s new Center for Education, Innovation & Training this week (Feb. 27, 2024), accompanied by Dr. Quintin Bullock, CCAC President; Michael Rinsem, CCAC Endowed Professor, Technical Curriculum; and Dr. Justin Starr, CCAC Endowed Professor, Advanced Technologies. Dr. Bullock welcomed local and legislative leaders who were speakers during the subsequent press conference, including Kate Shaw, Pennsylvania Department of Education Deputy Secretary and Commissioner for Postsecondary and Higher Education; Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato; Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey; Senator Jay Costa; Senator Wayne Fontana; Rep. Aerion Abney; Darrin Kelly, President of the Allegheny-Fayette Labor Council; and Majestic Lane, Chief Equity Officer at the Allegheny Conference on Community Development.

CCAC Mechatronics student Anene Otubelu was one of the featured speakers and introduced Gov. Shapiro. The governor also met with CCAC Professor Francis Cartieri and his class during the tour.
