The locally owned and operated franchise locations of Moe's Southwest Grill® in Pittsburgh have offered unique employee perks like receiving the latest iPhone for free on the employee's hire anniversary, a "Never Work on Your Birthday" policy, and tuition reimbursement for years. This year, Big Plan Group, the owners of the Pittsburgh area Moe's Southwest Grill franchised restaurants, is taking employee appreciation initiatives to the next level by now offering employees free education at the Community College of Allegheny County

"Pittsburgh is where I grew up, it is still, and will always be my home. I got my start with post-high school education at CCAC and I want to help other Pittsburgh kids start a path to success, just like I did," said franchisee John Iaquinta. "When I realized that many of our employees were attending CCAC and using our tuition reimbursement program to cover some costs, I wanted to create a way for them to develop their skills at CCAC for zero out of pocket cost."

The Pittsburgh region franchised locations of Moe's Southwest Grill, all operated by Iaquinta and partner Mike Geiger, are offering a full scholarship to any CCAC campus or online program for all their employees that work at least 1,000 hours annually upon their acceptance into the College. The scholarships will be awarded to new and existing employees with a goal of helping team members further their education with zero out-of-pocket expenses.

"Through this initiative, Moe's Southwest Grill® employees will have the opportunity to attend CCAC tuition-free as they work to achieve their academic and career goals," said CCAC President Dr. Quintin Bullock. "By investing in their employees' ongoing and future success, Moe's Pittsburgh continues their long-standing commitment to the communities in which they serve - a commitment that CCAC proudly shares."

This initiative is part of Big Plan Group's Community Support Program, a program dedicated to serving the Western PA communities through fundraising, food support and grant programs.

Participating Moe's locations include Campbell's Run Rd., Cranberry, Bridgeville, Market Square, Washington, Murrysville, Bethel Park, Wexford, and Oakland.

Moe's Southwest Grill franchised locations are individually owned and operated by franchisees. Franchisees are independent business owners and employers who set their own wage and benefit programs, which can vary between franchisees.
