CCAC and Johnson Controls were in the television spotlight as part of the Allegheny Conference on Economic Development's "Our Region's Business" show, which aired on WPXI-TV Sunday, Sept. 4. The segment, featuring guest appearances by CCAC Endowed Professor of Technical Curriculum Michael Rinsem and Johnson Controls Vice President, Mid-Atlantic Area, Mark Altsman, highlighted how the Johnson Controls $100,000 grant is enabling CCAC to offer career pathways for the next generation of building technology innovators.

Free Immersive STEM Program for Students in Grades 6-8 at CCAC Allegheny Campus

The Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) is partnering with Verizon and the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship to offer a free project-based STEM learning program. The Verizon Innovative Learning STEM Achievers Program, designed for middle school students (grades 6-8), will take place this summer, June 27 through July 22, at CCAC's Allegheny Campus.

CCAC Student Alysse Dambrot Named Pennsylvania's 2022 New Century Workforce Scholar

Community College of Allegheny County student Alysse Dambrot, of Bridgeville, has been named a 2022 New Century Workforce Scholar and will receive a $1,250 scholarship. This scholarship is the first of its kind to support students at associate degree-granting institutions on a national scale as they plan to enter the workforce upon the completion of a degree or certificate. The program is sponsored by The Coca-Cola Foundation and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

CCAC Invites Classes of 2020, 2021 and 2022 to In-Person Commencement at Heinz Field

The Community College of Allegheny County is pleased to announce that the college will hold an in-person 2022 Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, May 19, at Heinz Field. Graduates and their families are invited to attend the ceremony, which will take place at 7:00 p.m. As it will be the first in-person graduation held at CCAC since May 2019, the classes of 2020 and 2021 are also invited to walk in this year's ceremony. The event will be preceded by CCAC's 2020 Nursing Pinning Ceremony, which will be held at Heinz Field at 2:00 p.m.
