Futurum Magazine Spotlights CCAC Professors’ Expertise

Dr. Justin Starr, CCAC endowed professor of Advanced Technologies, and Robert Koch, CCAC professor of Automotive Engineering, were recently featured in Futurum magazine, published by Futurum Careers, a free online resource and magazine aimed at encouraging 14–19-year-olds worldwide to pursue careers in science, tech, engineering, math and medicine (STEM) and social sciences, humanities and the arts for people and the economy (SHAPE).

CCAC students participating in the BNY Mellon’s STARTUP Campus Mentorship Program attended an opening ceremony on Feb. 21 at BNY Mellon Pittsburgh headquarters to kick off the new semester and connect with the BNY Mellon mentors.

KDKA-TV Features CCAC Automotive Program

CCAC professor Robert Koch and students at the CCAC Automotive program, West Hills Center, recently had a very special guest. As part of a KDKA-TV segment, Travis, a 12-year-old Waiting Child who “loves all things related to cars,” visited CCAC. Dr. Koch had the pleasure of showing Travis some auto basics, including how to balance a tire.

CCAC Recognized by Achieving the Dream as a 2023 Leader College

The Community College of Allegheny County announced on Feb. 16 that it has been designated a Leader College by Achieving the Dream (ATD), a national nonprofit dedicated to advancing community colleges as hubs of equity and mobility in their communities.
