Dr. Ebony English Appointed to National Higher Education Advisory Committee

Dr. Ebony English, Endowed Professor for Teaching and Learning at the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC), has been appointed by EDUCAUSE, a national nonprofit organization, to serve on the organization's Teaching and Learning Advisory Committee for a three-year term.

This committee, comprised of nine educators from across the country, is charged with advising the EDUCAUSE teaching and learning team on strategic directions, events, publications and resources to be developed for the teaching and learning community.

"EDUCAUSE has taken inclusive measures to ensure the participation of academics of all stripes, thereby empowering us to grow as professionals. I am honored to be associated with an organization that recognizes the essential role of supporting and fostering the growth of educators in promoting student success," said Dr. English.

EDUCAUSE, whose mission is to advance higher education through the use of information technology, equips the teaching and learning community with the knowledge, resources and community-building opportunities needed to help shape strategic IT decisions at every level in higher education.

Dr. English has been actively involved in the organization, including being a member of the Expert Panel Committee for the 2023 EDUCAUSE Horizon Report/Teaching and Learning Edition as well as the 2023 EDUCAUSE Horizon Report/Supporting the Holistic Student Experience, and serving on the 2023 EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative (ELI) Annual Meeting Program Committee.
