    CCAC receives 2017 Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence
    The Community College of Allegheny County’s South Campus Energy Project has been named an awardee of the prestigious 2017 Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence. The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced that 21 organizations across the commonwealth will receive the award for 16 projects that represent the very best in innovation, collaboration and public service in environmental stewardship. The awardees will be recognized at an event hosted by DEP and the Pennsylvania Environmental Council on April 25 at the Hilton in downtown Harrisburg.
    CCAC Allegheny Campus to host HBCU panel discussion on Thursday, March 30
    The Community College of Allegheny County’s Allegheny Campus will present “HBCU 101: Historically Black Colleges & Universities” on Thursday, March 30, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Foerster Student Services Center Auditorium lobby. The panel discussion will feature success stories of African-American college alumni in Pittsburgh.

    CCAC South Campus will host a Social Workers in Aging Practice meeting on Tuesday, March 21
    The Community College of Allegheny County’s South Campus will host a Social Workers in Aging Practice (SWAP) dinner and meeting on Tuesday, March 21, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The dinner will begin at 5:15 p.m. followed by the business meeting at 6:00 p.m. It is the first time the college has hosted such an event related to social work practice with older adults in Pennsylvania.

    Allegheny Campus Open House Events
    CCAC Allegheny Campus will be offering several open house opportunities throughout the spring 2017 semester. Prospective students are invited to visit the campus to learn about available programs, talk with faculty and staff and to explore this traditional college-campus; which includes historical buildings as well as new state of the art facilities.
